Frank P. Montano
'>Frank P. Montano, 70, of East Hartford, loving husband of Gloria (Martino) Montano, peacefully passed away on Tuesday (September 20, 2005) at his home while surrounded by his loving and caring family. Born in Guardia Perticara, Province of Potenza, Italy, a son of the late Giuseppe and Rosaria (Rondino) Montano, he had resided in East Hartford since 1965. He was employed as an Operating Engineer by the International Union of Operating Engineers-Local #478 in Hamden, retiring after 35 years of masonry service in the construction field. He was a member of the Italian-American Stars of Hartford and of the Millenium Italian Society in Hartford. He was known in the area for his brickwork and winemaking, while enjoying gardening during the summer months. However, his greatest joy was participating and being around his family especially his eight grandchildren. Besides his beloved wife of 44 years, Frank is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Virginia Montano of Newington, Lawrence and Julie Montano of Vernon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosalie and Yves LaChance of South Windsor, Marie and William Lewis of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, Vincenzo Montano and Lorenzo Montano both in Italy; a sister, Amina Montano in Italy; eight adored grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Victoria, Alexandra, Giovanna, Joseph Jr., Matthew, and Madeline; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, September 23rd at 9 a.m. from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. Burial will be at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Words cannot express the sadness I feel for your loss.Mr Montano was a very wonderful man always warm and funny. I will always remember "Frankie" with a smile, for the love he had for life and how he made everyone feel like family.I feel very lucky to have known him.
